Wow! Check out this 26" male we landed this week—February is delivering!
TVA's high water on the South Holston and Watauga means wade fishing is limited, but float trips are on fire! Don't worry, though, the creeks are clearing up, perfect for a wade fishing adventure. If you're ready to hit the water, now's the time! TVA's high water on the South Holston and Watauga means wade fishing is limited, but float trips are on fire! On the South Holston, small flies are still key. Size 20 Blue Winged Olive nymphs continue to produce, and we're seeing a shift to olive midges. For added attraction, try leading with a worm or egg pattern. Over on the Watauga, tributaries are clearing, and the river's fishing well. Egg patterns with BWO droppers are effective. Streamer fishing is picking up, with larger browns actively feeding—perfect for an 8-weight setup!

Take a look at this brown trout's stomach sample—worms and leeches! Another brown coughed up a mix of sulfur and BWO nymphs. These tailwaters are incredible bug producers, supporting thousands of wild trout. Before the recent cold front, we had an epic nymph and streamer bite!

Expect continued dam generation into March, meaning limited wade fishing on the main rivers. But don't let that stop you! We're running fantastic float trips. Want to join us? Call 423-946-6665 to book your guide today.
